Free Apps to Download

All of these apps are free to download on the App Store!

99 Club: The 99 Club Mental Maths Quiz is a free app with potential in-app purchases.

News-O-Matic – News-O-Matic is the daily news app to inspire a love of nonfiction reading. Subjects include science, sports, world news, technology, arts, and entertainment. Every story is written at multiple literacy levels for ages 6 to 14.

Google Earth/Expeditions – made by Google, you can travel anywhere in the world and explore in virtual reality. They often have lots of facts linked to the places you travel too as well.

Kahoot – We often use this in school and there are a lot of quizzes on all subjects. If you have more than one device, you can do it as a group and challenge each other but you would need a ‘host’ device as well as the ones you are playing the quiz with.

DuoLingo – an interactive way of learning languages. If you have headphones available then children will be able to immerse themselves fully.

Apollo’s Moon Shot AR – explore the Apollo mission module… loads of facts and details included! The AR functionality puts the module right in front of you!  

Animal Safari AR – you put an animal in front of you in the room! Explore what the animal looks like, and then research habitats/facts online! 

Can you escape/You Must escape – there are lots of these on the App Store that are free, but adverts pop up every now and then. They are good for recall of facts, memory and group work!
