Islam – introducing the 5 Pillars:
We will be finding out more about this religion and learning that it is a worldwide religion.
Which countries do they think are Islamic countries?
Most countries have a Muslim population in them. Look at the first two slides of the PowerPoint and discuss.
Go through the Five pillars power point. Write what the 5 pillars are called and a short description of them on the sheet provided. There is a sheet to help with matching the names and definitions of the five pillars. For an extra challenge, children should be encouraged to add detail where possible and research more about Mecca using the web link.
